The Story-to-Novella Poll
This is an experiment. I was just thinking to myself, I wish some editor would give me an assignment to take one of my older stories and turn it into a novella. Why? It’s easier to justify spending time on something when somebody is expecting something from you, I suppose.
And so, this poll; the idea being that whatever story is chosen I will then expand to novella-length. I have to wonder if I’ll actually go through with it. I suspect that I might. Furthermore, I suspect that it’ll be rewarding.

Okay… The reason I voted for My Sister’s Boyfriend Joey is because I wanna know what happened after the confrontation in the grocery store… I’m a romantic and I wanna see Joey and Nate either hook up again or end up together… Lol!

The reason I voted for My Sister’s Boyfriend Joey is because I think it is the one with the most potential to create a real story line. While I love the other ones they seem to have already come to completion. Believe me I could be wrong. The Morning After is actually my second choice! Do them all! Love your writing!!

Thank you guys. I appreciate hearing your perspective, it’s helping me to consider where I might take the story – because, honestly, Sister’s BF Joey is probably the one that’s going to win!

Hi Natty, I do love ‘My Sister’s Boyfriend Joey’ and I voted for it when you did a poll of which story your readers wanted most to see continued. Not this time. I voted for Donnie’s Dick instead. The situation, the circumstance, the characters all blend so well to make this one HOT motherf*cking story!! I know it’s probably not going to win, but I’m hoping someday you’ll find the inspiration to write another chapter… More power!

I think My Sister’s Boyfriend Joey will win but i am voting for Morning After. That is one of the hottest stories you have written and i think it would be awesome to know what happened after that first morning. To see the struggles of facing their inner sexual desires for each other to the pure carnal lust driven sex between Sonny and Chuck and how they have developed would be awesome.

Thanks Homie and Ron. It was interesting going through my old stories and thinking of them in this context, considering what might work. “Donnie’s Dick” is one of those stories that I’ve just never thought much about – I recall submitting it somewhere and it getting rejected, or maybe they just thought the title sucked, which it does. 🙂 But skimming through it, it seems like it has real potential for expansion.
I don’t know, this is all new for me and I have to say, I’m excited. I don’t want to count my chickens but this could be a new approach for me. Let me lay it out for ya:
1) I loved writing my sequel to ‘428 College St’ (which, by the way, I’ll be self-releasing in the next month or so). That came about because it was suggested to me by an Amazon reviewer.
2) I love to write. Specifically, I love when writing comes easily and naturally, and when I get on a roll and I write every day or nearly every day. That roll came to me when I was working on ‘691’.
3) I’ve always written short stories. The main criticism I get from readers is that my stories are too short, that they seem to have life beyond what I write, that they stop short. That’s a good criticism when you consider the fact that I *like* to write. But until recently it’s been difficult for me to write longer stories. I would get an idea in my head for a scene, write the scene and that would be that. However…
4) It now occurs to me that I have dozens and dozens of really short stories that could potentially be kernals for larger, longer stories. Again, I don’t know how this is going to shake out. But I’m excited to try it out and see.

That is my fav story of all time. I always think about a possible sequel
