Why do I love seeing Shannon Doherty get slapped so much?

These are great. That sound is still relevant, especially if you look at people like Crystal Castles appropriating these kind of bubbly synths. One of my favorite 80s synth scores is from Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QdLpTBhDuY)

Right on, Rob – that’s David Newman, who also did the score for “Heathers,” and who is the brother of Thomas Newman who wins Oscars like constantly for his scores. Thomas Newman is pretty great, too – his score for “The Player” is one of my all-time faves.
DC’s has a great feature today on hypnagogic pop/chillwave…I feel like this fits in somehow…
